What’s Worth Upgrading (and What Isn’t) in a Flip?

Data from national remodeling reports is brutally honest about this:

Some upgrades pay you back. Some don’t.

High-impact, lower-cost improvements- paint, lighting, hardware, flooring consistency - repeatedly show strong resale influence relative to their cost.

On the other hand, expensive custom features and high-end finishes often return less than expected unless the market truly supports them. The mistake we see most often is investors upgrading the wrong things because they’re visible during the renovation- not because buyers value them.

Our job is to keep your money focused on what buyers actually respond to.
